SecureEdge Pro firmware release

Week 16

Firmware version: 5.3.1
Frequency
The SecureEdge Pro receives a firmware update ~4 times a year. These release notes can also be found at the bottom at Fleet Manager > Devices > Your device > Info.
Features
- Added WAN Cellular support for Cellular and Combi models, enabling you to bring your machine online when no on-site Wired or Wi-Fi connection is available.
Security
- Fixed an issue where in some configurations mapped ports on Docker containers were exposed on WAN interfaces. We recommend upgrading as soon as possible.
Improvements
- Applying and synchronizing configurations from and to the Fleet Manager now happens significantly faster for most use cases.
- Local web interface now shows the Wi-Fi status in the top right corner of its configuration section, aligning it with the cellular status information.
- A firmware upgrade takes considerably less data to download and is now faster as a result.
Fixes
- Changing the password for the local web interface no longer returns a 424 code on server errors, providing a 500 error instead.
- When creating a Docker container through the local web interface, the status button now correctly reports the completed state for large images.
- After pushing WAN Wi-Fi settings, LAN to WAN firewall settings no longer falsely indicate a configuration difference.
- The display no longer shows “Connected” when a static WAN IP is configured, but no cable is plugged in.
- OPC UA data sources no longer crash when the “maxNodesPerRead” property could not be retrieved.
- Assigning multiple port forwards to the same destination port no longer leads to a rejected configuration.
Known issues
- Switching the WAN2 mode to LAN from a static configuration retains the IP/netmask in the configuration.
- When both Ethernet and Wi-Fi are connected to the same network, a network conflict is unnecessarily reported.
- Pushing changed Wi-Fi 1:1 NAT rules while Wi-Fi is disabled will incorrectly report the configuration as being in sync, even though the rules are not persisted.
- 1:1 NAT rules for Wi-Fi disappear after a firmware upgrade. The SecureEdge Pro will initially report them in sync with the Fleet Manager, even though they are gone. After a reboot, a config difference is triggered and they can be pushed again to re-apply.
- WAN to LAN port forwards do not work if the source port is also exposed by a Docker container.
