SecureEdge Pro firmware release
- Week 18
- Firmware version: 5.4
Frequency
The SecureEdge Pro receives a firmware update ~4 times a year. These release notes can also be found at the bottom at Fleet Manager > Devices > Your device > Info.
Features
- Added Wi-Fi hotspot support for Wi-Fi and Combi models, allowing wireless LAN connections to be made to the SecureEdge Pro. The hotspot can be enabled when the Wi-Fi client is not in use.
- Wi-Fi Client network settings are now visible on the display.
- Added support for SSD storage. Installing a drive will format it with an EXT4 filesystem if it is not yet partitioned. All new Docker data will be stored on this drive; existing Docker data will remain on the internal storage and is unreachable while the SSD is present. Do not swap your SSD while the device is running.
- Added support for adding tmpfs mounts to Docker containers. These mounts are persisted in memory and will live as long as a container is running.
Improvements
- Router API: the endpoint to configure a Docker volume changed to support the new tmpfs mount type.
Known issues
- Enabling cellular when no SIM card is present leaves the device in an unconfigurable state until a SIM card is inserted.
