SecureEdge Pro firmware release
- Week 9
- Firmware version: 5.2
Frequency
The SecureEdge Pro receives a firmware update ~4 times a year. These release notes can also be found at the bottom at Fleet Manager > Devices > Your device > Info.
Features
- Added WAN Wi-Fi support for Wi-Fi models, enabling you to bring your machine online when there is no Ethernet cable available.
- A system log archive can be downloaded via the local web interface to help with troubleshooting.
- Status events indicating connectivity and configuration issues are now shown on the local web interface.
- Added support for remote reboot.
- You can now configure Time Synchronization via NTP. When not configured, the device will sync its time with the API.
Improvements
- You can now troubleshoot more issues by viewing the error information on the display.
- Conflicting network configurations now more clearly indicate the erroneous settings when configured through the local web interface.
- Docker container logs are now limited in size and automatically rotated, preventing an issue where verbose containers could fill up all available storage space. This will only be in effect for containers created after the firmware upgrade.
- Display colors have been updated to improve contrast.
Fixes
- Errors that occur while interacting with the Router API will now always return a 500 error code, where previously a 424 error could be returned.
- Fixed an issue where Docker containers could sometimes not be removed due to an internal duplicate network conflict.
- Fixed an issue where IPv6 to IPv4 fallback would not work for MQTT connections.
- Fixed an issue where the Siemens data source would crash on rare occasions, which resulted in a gap in data.
- Fixed an issue where, when a network cable was unplugged, the display, local web interface and Cloud would not report all information for that port.
Known issues
- When both Ethernet and Wi-Fi are connected, Ethernet takes priority. Configuring internet priority is not yet supported.
- After pushing WAN Wi-Fi settings, the “Access to corporate network” and “Access to internet” firewall settings are reported as inverted by the device, but are not actually changed. Pushing the configuration again fixes the synchronization issue.
- Configuring a LAN Wi-Fi hotspot is not supported yet.
- “Removed from platform” error is not shown on the display when the device is removed from the Cloud.
- The display will always show “Connected” when a static WAN IP is configured, even if no cable is plugged in.
- Changing the LAN IP address on the display may cause the LAN DHCP range to get out of sync with the LAN network.
