IXON Cloud 2.13.2

IXON Weekly update

  • Week 07
  • IXwebapp version: 2.13.2
  • API version 0.1.87 (details)

What is the IXON weekly update?
The IXON Cloud and IXON’s API are updated weekly with bug fixes, changes to the platform, and new features. This weekly update informs you of everything that was added to, changed, and fixed in the IXON platform this week.

This week we see three new components for the studio paired with a few good overall improvements and bugfixes.

Features

Multiple status components

Two new components are available in the Studio: the multiple status component and the live multiple status component.

What’s new?

  • Show multiple statuses in one component for both historical and live data.

Why might it be valuable for you?

  • With the multiple status component it is possible to better organize your pages when displaying multiple statuses on a single page.
  • Group all the statuses of your device together in a concise overview of changing icons and text colors

Data export component

A new component is available in the Studio: the export data component.

What’s new?

  • In the studio the export data component is added.
  • There are three export file types you can choose from: CSV (Comma delimited), CSV (Semicolon delimited), and Text (Tab delimited).

Why might it be valuable for you?

  • The export data component enables you to create specific selections of data tags that you, or your users, would like to download when using the Portal. Simply press the download button to access the data.
  • The selected data tags are exported as raw logged data points, no post processing is applied.

Other new features

Show banner for custom app (Users don’t know there is a new app)

What: When opening portal.ixon.cloud on a mobile web browser, a banner is displayed showing we have a new app. Also, a link is included to open the app, if installed, or open the play- or iOS store to download.

Why: It is not clear for users that we have a new IXON Cloud app. If users are using the old IXON Cloud app and switch to a new company a web browser will open. We want to encourage them to download the new app.

Solution to unexpected VPN disconnection when bearer token expires

What: When your access token expires within 8 hours and you are connecting to VPN, a dialog will be displayed to notify the user about the expiring session and force them to log out and login again.

Why: There are situations that a user is connected to VPN and their access token expires. Their connection will be lost, and they have to log in again. If this happens when a user is downloading a file, this file will be corrupted. By forcing them to log out and log in again, when the access token expires within 8 hours, we prevent this from happening.

Fixes

Besides these new features, the following bug fixes are part of the release:

  • A bug where some users couldn’t export CSV data from the IXON Cloud was resolved.
  • Components that can have multiple tags are no longer overwritten by the base component when they are being copied.
  • Users now get an error when they forget a comma in the CSV file they’re trying to import
  • When exporting the event log and cloud connection status logbook, you now get the export in the correct language.
  • General improvements of the line graph component in desktop app
  • Improved performance of live line graph on iOS
  • The page preview in Studio didn’t work for all components
